Just letting you know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers, especially during the night when I wake up.
Love, Pam

So happy to hear that Sharmi is doing well right now and that you, Cheris, did not deliver that baby these past two weeks! God is good!
Thank you for your e-mail. We are all doing well. This time around has been a bit harder for us. The recurrence rate for Papillary Thryoid Cancer is fairly low and it has an extremely high cure rate, so we had hoped that they got it all last time. We did know, however, that it had spread to the lymph nodes, but the doctors were all confident that the radioactive iodine would "clean up" what was left after surgery. I guess not.
I met with the Head and Neck surgeon this past Friday and he is going to order a CT scan so he can see where the tumors are in relation to the nerves and major arteries in my neck and then we will get back together and discuss the risks of surgery. They already know that one of them is next to my left carotid. The surgeon was not concerned about that one as far as doing surgery, but did not want to risk doing a biopsy with ultrasound. So, we are waiting for the CT and then we can schedule surgery and decide how invasive he needs to be and what the risks are.
Happy Labor Day! I hope it turned out to be a good one! We love you guys and are praying for all of you...and for a much better delivery for Cheris this time around!!! Take care!
